Caughley blue and white printed jug lid, with gilt decoration and flower finial, c1775(p103-13)
This pretty lid is a Caughley lid c1775. I believe it to be a lid from a milk jug of sparrow beak shape. It has a blue and white printed oriental style border and flower and foliage print on the domed portion. It has a delicately moulded flower finial which is partially gilded. the only mark is a gilt triangle mark on the inner rim of the lid, this the decorators mark.

The lid does have a chip on the under side of the rim which does show as a little 'nick' from the top, as shown in the pictures.
