This very pretty teapot stand is beautifully decorated with a blue and white print of an oriental landscape which includes a large pagoda. There are islands with houses, rocks and trees. Between the islands sails a boat and there is a delightful oriental bridge crossing over the water. There are two figures to be seen crossing the bridge. The blue of this decoration is very vivid and rich in appearance.

The hexagonal rim of the teapot stand has a gilded rim to it and  around the inside flat plate of the teapot stand runs a gilt band of decoration comprising a dot and chain pattern between two gilt lines.

There is no manufacturer's mark on the base of the teapot stand, but it originated from the Caughley factory c1785 and is a very fine and attractive teapot stand.
