A most attractive First Period Worcester plate (or saucer dish) of lobed shape and raised rim with scalloped edge. This charming plate is hand decorated in green enamels with formal flower and leaf sprigs with applied gilding and dates from c1775.

The circular plate is a pleasing shape with  raised rim which is moulded with lobes and has a scalloped edge.

Elegant decoration is applied to the plate in the form of hand painted green enamel flowers and leaves. There are three main floral and leaf sprigs evenly spaced around the plate and further minor sprigs dotted about the plate.

There is a gilded circle in the centre of the plate in which is a further green spray of leaves. This decoration is beautifully executed and has a light and elegant feel about it's design.

The plate stands upon a low foot rim and in the centre of the underside of this plate there is an incised circle, employed at the Worcester factory. Although there is no manufacturer's mark on this charming plate it is from the famous Worcester factory and dates from c1775.

Marks:

Although there is no manufacturer's mark on this charming plate it is from the famous Worcester factory and dates from c1775. There is on the underside of this plate an incised circle, this mark was employed at the Worcester factory.

Condition:

This delightful First Period Worcester plate is generally in very good condition, c1775. There are no cracks, repairs or restoration. The only very minor imperfections are a very  tiny flake chip on the rim of the plate, but this is extremely minor and certainly does not detract from this very elegant plate and a tiny amount of the green enamel decoration missing from a few of the minor leaves.
