The decoration of this Worcester dish is very elegant. The central bouquet of flowers is executed in colours that include pink, yellow, purple, orange and green. Flowers include fully blooming roses and lilies as well as other varieties. The foliage is in green with black line detail. It is a most charming feature of the dessert dish.

There are single leaf sprigs around the circular white centre of the dish.

The dish has a  wide 'wet' blue ground border which is a rich blue which shines out, almost looking as if the glaze is still wet.

The blue border has on the inner edge a most elaborate and very fine gilt band of decoration. The workmanship that has gone into producing such fine decoration is quite remarkable. This gilding is in very fine condition too, which is excellent.

Each corner of the dish has a flourish of gilded decoration to the band including panels made with 'C' scrolling foliage in which it is scaled using extremely fine gilt lines.. Further gilded foliate decoration at the corners create a most charming design.

The rim of the dish is gilded and has dentil gilding to the inner rim.

The dish stands upon a raised square foot rim and the centre of the underside of the plate is marked with an underglaze blue script form 'W'.

This is a rare and beautifully decorated Worcester dessert dish from the Eighteenth century. It is beautifully decorated with a colourful spray of flowers in the centre and has a rich 'wet' blue ground border embellished with an amazingly fine gilt decoration. This delightful dish from the famous English Worcester factory dates from c1770.
