The slops bowl has a circular body which is 'shanked' (spirally moulded) to give a very attractive and well potted body. The outside of the slops bowl is decorated with a hand painted design, 'the red spotted flower'. This is a garland of stylised red flowers formed by five red dots. Each flower has stylised purple foliage at an angle to the flower head. These red dot flowers are linked with a gilded ribbon that oscillates between the flowers. This is a very elegant design.

The bowl has a serrated rim which is gilded. A  further gilded line runs around the base of the slops bowl raised foot.

In the centre of the bowl is a large 'red spot flower' with stylised purple foliage radiating from around it. There is no manufacturer's mark on the slops bowl, but it is from the Worcester ''Flight and Barr' factory and dates from c1790.

Condition:

This delightful Worcester slops bowl is in good condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration. The only very minor imperfections are some small amounts of wear to the flower inside the bottom of the bowl and to the high spots on the gilded rim of the bowl.

On the inside of the foot rim there is what may appear to be a small crack, but this is no more than a slight manufacturing fault where it has not been glazed.

It is a fine slops bowl for the collector of early English or Worcester porcelain.
