Caughley Tea Bowl and Saucer, New Fluted Form, 'Royal Stripe & Festoon' Decoration, Salopian 'S' Mark, c1790(p1085)
A very elegant Caughley tea bowl and saucer dating from c1790. The shape is of the 'new fluted' design and is beautifully decorated with a pattern known as 'Royal Stripe & Festoon' in underglaze blue and rich honey coloured gilding. The tea bowl is marked with the underglaze blue Salopian 'S' used at the famous Shropshire Caughley factory c1775-90. To check price and availability:

The tea bowl is marked with the underglaze blue Salopian 'S' used at the famous Shropshire Caughley factory c1775-90. There is no mark on the saucer.
This charming Caughley tea bowl and saucer are in very good condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration.
The only extremely minor imperfection is some slight wear to the gilding, this mainly to the high spots on the tea bowl and saucers gilded scalloped rim and central star of the saucer.

A most beautiful and elegant tea bowl and saucer for the collector of Caughley or early English porcelain from the eighteenth century.
