Rare Wedgwood egg frame, one piece construction of an oval tray, six pierced basket egg cups and central 'canoe' shaped salt dish, c1820(p1089)
A rare egg frame from the famous Wedgwood factory that dates from c1820. It is rare to find such an item in such excellent condition. This beautiful egg frame would have graced the breakfast table at the early part of the Nineteenth century and would have been used to serve the boiled eggs at breakfast and in the centre the all important salt bowl. This remarkable and most attractive egg frame is constructed in one piece and is decorated in blue and white, including blue floral printed decoration. To check price and availability:

The underside of this egg frame is marked with an impressed 'WEDGWOOD' mark and dates from c1820.

The condition of this remarkable and elegant egg frame is excellent. there are no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration. The only extremely minor imperfection is some natural crazing to the glaze on the underside of the tray (see picture below). Otherwise an absolutely perfect and rare item from the famous Wedgwood factory and a piece for the connoisseur collector of early English or Wedgwood wares.
