Barr Worcester Tea Bowl & Saucer, Shanked shape with blue and gilt border and Gilded Thistles, Scratched 'B' mark, c1795(p1107)
A very elegant and well moulded circular spiral shanked tea bowl and saucer, decorated with blue and gilt decoration including the gilt Thistle motif. This charming tea bowl and saucer was made at the famous Barr Worcester factory c1795 and is marked on the underside of the tea bowl and saucer base with the impressed 'B' mark of the Barr Worcester factory. The tea bowl and saucer are marked with the incised scratched 'B' mark of the Barr Worcester factory. This mark was used at this famous Worcester factory between c1792-1807. The tea bowl also has a '4' in gold on the inside of the foot rim, a decorator's tally mark.


This most attractive eighteenth century Worcester tea bowl and saucer is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration. The only extremely minor imperfection is some slight wear to the gilding on the scalloped rims at the high spots (as shown below).
