The tea bowl and coffee can are marked with the Caughley 'Salopian' underglaze blue 'S' mark the saucer has the same mark but with an 'O' next to the 'S'. These marks were used at the Caughley factory between 1775-90. The marks are very clearly painted in the centre of the under side of the tea bowl, coffee can and saucer.

This beautiful Caughley tea bowl, coffee can and saucer is in good condition with no cracks, repairs or restoration. The only extremely minor imperfection are a tiny scrape type chip to the rim of the tea bowl, but this is very very minor, a little speckling inside the coffee can from its manufacture and a tiny blurred spot in the blue of the top of the pagoda on the saucer. All these are tiny imperfections, two of which are from the time of its manufacture rather than later damage.

A delightful Caughley trio dating from c1785. A fine addition for the collector of fine quality Caughley porcelain from the eighteenth century.
