The body of this teapot is of a beautiful high oval shape which
is waisted to make it appear even more elegant.

It has a wonderful shped moulded handle and elegantly
proportioned spout.

The decoration on this teapot is in two wide bands, one around
the shoulder of the teapot and the other round the rim of the cover. This
decoration takes the form of simplistic floral designs executed in coloured
enamels of pink, brown, green and orange.

The stylistic decoration depicts simplistic flowers in pink with
green foliage and trees with orange branches and dotted fruits.

The elegantly shaped spout has a brown painted rim and the front
face of the spout has brown stylised foliage applied to it.

The handle of the teapot is of a double scroll moulded shaped,
quite a flat oval in its cross section. It has a raised thumb piece to aid
holding the teapot. As with the spout the handle is embellished with brown
decoration in the form of foliage up the back edge and the tips of the handle
and thumb piece have brown lines applied.

Inside the teapot reveals a diamond shape of spout strainer
holes. There are nine holes to the strainer.

The underside of the teapot is marked with an orange arrow below
a dot. this I believe is the decorators 'tally mark'.

The cover of the teapot is of a low domed oval shape with a fine
pointed oval button finial.

the cover has the same coloured enamel decoration as the teapot.

The finial to the cover is a distinctive oval shape with a
pointed centre. This pretty finial is decorated with radiating lines in brown.

Generally this delightful Staffordshire teapot and cover is in good condition
with no chips, or restoration. It does have a couple of hair line cracks around
the base portion of the teapot - as shown in the pictures below, but these are
perfectly tight and so not a problem.

The body of the teapot does have some crazing to the glaze which
has browned over the many years, but this has to be expected on a teapot of this
age and does not really detract from its beauty. there are also two tiny flakes
of the brown decoration lacking form the finial - but this really is a very
minor point.

It is still a very pretty and beautiful Staffordshire teapot
