Worcester 'Sparrow Beak' Jug, 'Bandstand' Pattern, Disguised Numeral Mark, c1780(p1164)
A beautiful First Period Worcester 'Sparrow Beak' jug, decorated with the pattern known as the 'Bandstand' pattern which refers to the bandstand type of building in the blue and white oriental scene. This charming jug dates from c1780 and has a disguised numeral mark on the base, which I believe to be a '2'. To check price and availability:

| 3¾" (95mm) in height. | |
| 3¼" (82mm) approximate length from the tip of the Sparrow beak to the back edge of the handle. | |
| 102 gms in weight. |
On the underside of the jug is the Worcester blue disguised numeral mark, intended to appear like a Chinese mark. This mark I believe to be a '2' in disguise. this jug dates from c1780.

This rare and beautiful sparrow beak jug is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration. It is an exceptional early Worcester jug for the collector of Worcester or early English porcelain. I should state that what may appear a tiny chip on the foot rim, as shown in the picture below, is in fact a blemish from where the jug sat in the kiln, is glazed over and is not damage.
