Very Rare Chamberlain Worcester Oval Shanked Teapot Stand, Having A Yellow, Red & Gold Border, Pattern Number 221, c1800(p894)
An extremely rare yellow border Chamberlain Worcester shanked oval teapot stand, dating from c1800. Yellow is the rarest colour to find used on early English porcelain due to the complex nature of the firing it was unstable and so almost impossible to produce. As such, yellow ground porcelains were very expensive and sought after at the time and a rare item for collectors to find today. To check price and availability:

| 5¼oz (147gms) in weight. |
This stunning
teapot stand is clearly marked on the underside with the Chamberlain Worcester
pattern number 'No 221' in gold. This mark is listed in the Chamberlain pattern
book as 'Shanked yellow, red and gold bluebell border' and the stand dates from
c1800.
This rare teapot stand is in very good condition, with just a tight hairline crack at one point on the rim (too fine to picture) and some very minor wear to the fine gilding, mainly to the rim and border of the yellow ground band. These imperfections are very minor and this remains a very fine Chamberlain Worcester teapot stand for the connoisseur collector.
