New Hall Trio of Coffee Can, Teacup and Saucer, Decorated with 'Imari' Vine Pattern, Pattern Number 446, c1810(p992)
A delightful New Hall trio comprising a coffee can, teacup and saucer, each beautifully decorated with pattern number 446, this in an 'Imari' palette depicting a fruiting grape vine. This trio would have been made at the New Hall works c1810. A trio was the way in which many tea sets of this period were supplied, a teacup and coffee can sharing one saucer. The trio does not carry the pattern number, this is only to be found on the teapot, jug and saucer plate of the set. This trio, as part of a New Hall set, is pattern 446 and dates from c1810.
This rare and remarkable New Hall Trio is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration. The gilding is generally in very good condition with extremely little sign of wear, just a minor amount of wear to the fine gilding on the saucer centre.
