The transfer printed blue and white decoration is absolutely exquisite. The gilding used for the decoration is very bright, rich and so very fine in its detail. The decoration is underglaze blue with an extremely clear prints of the 'Temple' pattern. The pattern is of an oriental scene, with a temple and a person crossing a stone bridge on horseback shaded by a man with a parasol. Other characters are to be seen within this pleasant scene, including a man in a sailing boat.

The inner rim of the tea bowl and coffee cup has a very decorative blue and white oriental style border

At the bottom of the tea bowl is a small blue and white print depicting a small Island

The raised foot rim of the tea bowl has a thick gilded line around it.

This very elegant trio with vertical moulded lines is made of soft-paste porcelain and is typical of the shape popular at the end of the eighteenth century. This delightful trio has been charmingly decorated and embellished with fine gilded decoration, this taking the form of a double gilded band with circles and dots inside the tea bowl and saucer as well as gilded rims.

The coffee can has a similar raised foot with gilded band around it. There is an elegant 'ear' shaped handle to the cup, the back edge of which has a gilded line applied.

The inner rim of the coffee can has the same decorative band of blue and white decoration as the tea bowl.

The saucer shows the same Temple pattern scene, which is beautifully printed and is very sharp in its definition. The gilding too is in extremely fine condition.

This is a delightful Caughley trio, reeded shape with scalloped border, exquisitely decorated with the rich 'Temple' pattern, c1785.
