This very fine quality sucrier is moulded with 'shanked' (or spiral) line, which was the latest design in fashion at the later period of the eighteenth century. These moulded lines are very finely potted and create a most decorative effect.
The outer body of the sucrier is delightfully decorated with the 'bluebell' pattern, this includes three blue and gilt 'bluebells' positioned around the bowl.
A rich underglaze Cobalt blue border runs around the top of the sucrier, This is decorated with alternate diagonal lines of foliage and big dots. Around the base of the sucrier is gilt wreath with a gilt line.
The cover of the sucrier is moulded with the same shanked moulded lines. It too is decorated with the 'bluebell' pattern, this includes three blue and gilt 'bluebells' positioned around the cover.
The same rich underglaze Cobalt blue border runs around the edge of the cover, This is decorated with the same gilt decoration as the band on the sucrier bowl. Around the finial of the cover is a cobalt blue and gilt wreath.
The finial is the distinctive Flight and Barr moulded shape, embellished with gilt decoration.

This beautiful 'Flight and Barr' Worcester sucrier and cover are in very good condition with cracks, repairs or restoration. The only extremely minor imperfections are that on the inner rim of the cover is a shallow chip approx.15mm long as shown in the pictures below.
Generally the gilded decoration is in quite good order, but there a few areas of wear particularly around the rim of the sucrier bowl, as shown below.
There is one small patch where the cobalt blue is missing from the band around the sucrier rim, shown below. this is from the manufacturing process. A few brown speckles are also to be seen inside the bowl of the sucrier.
